The medical terminology course covers the medical language and terminology that is used by health care professionals everywhere. If you are interested in pursuing a health career that requires you to have a ability to communicate with physicians, dentists, or other medical professionals, this is the CLASS for YOU. WHO SHOULD TAKE THE TRAINING? Anyone interpreter interested in pursuing a career in the health and medical field wil greatly benefit from taking this course. If you have not taken a medical terminology course in the last few years, this course serves as an introduction to new interpreters and as a referesher for established interpreters.
Learning how to navigate medical terminology is like learning a whole other language. We can help! You are invited to join our upcoming medical terminology workshop. During this workshop, you will learn the common roots, prefixes, and suffixes of medical terminology, and how to use this knowledge to help you navigate complicated medical language before, during, and after your interpreting encounter. This workshop is designed for entry-level/new interpreters, and experienced interpreters looking for a refresher. There will be time for language-specific work groups based on participant registration.
This course includes all material necessary including a Medical Terminology textbook.
